Future of Mobility
This course is designed to develop a deep understanding of the technological, business and societal context of the “three mobility revolutions: autonomous, electric and shared”. It will look in detail at disruptive technologies from robotaxis to drone delivery. Building on case studies and in-class practitioner presentations of disruptor and incumbent business models, you will learn to evaluate the impact of mobility technologies on urban and rural living and society overall. The course starts from evaluating technologies, economics and customer adoption, but also builds the bridge to macroeconomic transition challenges in terms of jobs and growth in relevant industries such as automotive, mobility as a service, power as well as oil and gas.

Member of Executive Board and Global Head of Mobility and Transport of World Economic Forum, Geneva and New York, Lecturer for Energy & Resource Economics at the University of Cologne
Dr. Wolff is at the forefront of global transition in the mobility industry, shaping collaboration between governments/international organizations and corporates at top management level. He is engaged in multiple public-private projects and platforms around the world incl. China, India and USA, focusing on the impact of mobility and transport on sustainability, safety and productivity. He was Managing Director of the European Climate Foundation, advising EU Commission and EU Governments on Climate Policies and Board Member of Deutsche Bahn Cargo responsible for international business. Before he was Senior Partner at McKinsey & Co., co-leading the Global Travel & Logistics sector. He was Professor at Krannert School, Purdue University, Indiana and Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. Christoph Wolff is “Responsible Leader of BMW Foundation” and Faculty of Baden-Badener Unternehmergespraeche and Board Member of a number of technology start-ups in Energy and Mobility industries.
