Programme Description

In an ever-changing digital landscape, companies are increasingly relying on DevOps practices for software development to optimize their processes and increase productivity. The world of software development and business value creation as well as business processes are increasingly converging as digital components play a core role in almost all products and services. In this dynamic environment, it is crucial that employees from different areas of the company work together seamlessly as a team. "DevOps for Business" is a certified training program specifically designed for professionals who operate in an agile environment and actively collaborate with developers in a team. The aim is to provide these individuals with an understanding of the fundamentals and principles of DevOps as well as the tools, processes and procedures required to work effectively with software development.

Module 2: Agile DevOps Practices for Entrepreneurial Success

  • Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and analysis of process and system performance to ensure optimal business outcomes.

Module 3: Agile Requirements Engineering in DevOps: "Understanding and Agile Implementation of Requirements for Digital Products and Processes"

  • DevOps Requirements Management I: Gather and document requirements for digital processes and products within the DevOps framework.
  • DevOps Requirements Management II: Analyze and validate requirements for digital processes and products.
  • Agile Mindset and Roles: Foster an agile mindset and assume impactful roles within DevOps and agile methodologies to enhance digital product and process development.

Christoph Rosenkranz has been the Academic Director of the Bachelor's programme in Business Informatics at the University of Cologne. His research primarily focuses on the digital transformation of organizations, with particular emphasis on the development and management of information systems and the effects of different management approaches on system development, teamwork, and project management. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Journal, Business & Information Systems Engineering, Journal of Database Management, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Project Management Journal. Prof. Dr. Rosenkranz studied at the University of Münster (Diploma in Business Informatics) and completed his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. pol.) and habilitation at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In his research, he has collaborated with and advised companies such as SEB, Woolworth’s, Lufthansa, Accenture, AXA, and SAP. He is the Deputy Managing Director of the Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) and a member of the expert group "Digital Transformation" at the Cologne Center for Ethics, Rights, Economics, and Social Sciences of Health (ceres).

 

Prof. Dr. Andreas Vogelsang

Prof. Dr. Andreas Vogelsang is a Professor of Software Engineering at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Cologne. He completed his Ph.D. at TU Munich in 2015 and served as a junior professor for Automotive Software Engineering at TU Berlin from mid-2016 to mid-2020, also leading the Software Engineering Department at the Daimler Center for Automotive IT Innovations during that time. Professor Vogelsang's research focuses on Requirements Engineering, Model-based Systems Engineering, and Data-driven Systems Engineering. In 2018, Vogelsang was appointed as a Junior Fellow of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI), and in 2019, he was named "Young Scientist of the Year" by academics and the DHV.
